Cooper Winston has Arrived!!!

On March 28 at 8:49 am Cooper finally came out!   I was happy to have my doctor, Dr. Maccio and Dr. Bigler who is the surgeon (he does the actual incision/surgery and she assists) in there with me.  They have delivered all of my babies.  They are the best and I would NEVER want anyone else!  I was really nervous for my 3rd C-section this time around.  It had been 4 yrs since my last one and I just felt uneasy about this one for some reason.  Thankfully it went well...there was a lot of extra tugging and pulling (C-sections actually feel kind of violent) because his head was really far down.  I also got my tubes tied so we could smell burning flesh as they cauterized and sealed everything up.  That was nauseating!  Thankfully everything went well and he came out a healthy 7 lbs 6 oz,, our biggest baby ever!  He was huge!  Oliver was our biggest one at 6 lbs 7 oz and Cooper was a full pound larger.  He truly is a "Crusher"!  No wonder why I was so uncomfortable at the end.  Oliver was bummed that Cooper was bigger...he wanted to be the biggest one.

My parents brought the kids to the hospital as soon as school was out and Oliver got to be the first one to hold the baby brother he has wanted for so long.  They all were absolutely amazed and in awe of him as they held him and met him for the first time.  They didn't want to leave so Mackenzie brought them back again first thing the next day.

Our hospital stay was great.  The nurses were wonderful.  There was one night nurse who was super sweet, but it felt like she came in and woke us up every 10 minutes.  She also wanted to draw my blood at 4 am and I have never had that happen before so that was odd.  She was really nice, just a bit ambitious for a night nurse!

Cooper was a crier in the hospital.  If he was awake, he was crying.  I wasn't really surprised.  We don't have easy babies and I wasn't really expecting (just hoping) this one would be different!  That's ok, hopefully we'll get all the difficulty out while they are young and have a break when they are older.  Wishful thinking probably.  But one can hope :)

Welcome home Cooper!  What a precious gift you are.  You are beautiful beyond words and our family is complete.  So happy you are here and healthy and oh so loved!
