Berkeley was chosen by Mrs. Opland as Student of the Semester! So, on June 13 we went to the assembly to see her receive her award. Mrs. Opland wrote "Berkeley is a model student. However, what makes her stand out from others is her tolerant and patient way. She can work with anyone. She always uses good manners and acts with kindness. She is a role model for all of us, kids and adults alike. Thanks Berkeley, for being such a positive part of our class."
Berkeley had a wonderful 2nd grade year. She loved having Mrs. Opland. Mrs. Opland is such a fun teacher. Whenever I was in the class room she always cracked me up. She is hilarious and so fun...a perfect 2nd grade teacher. At the end of the assembly, when Mrs. Opland had the opportunity to speak to her class about what the year meant to her, she actually started to cry and got very emotional. It was really sweet. Later, when they got to class, she told the kids that she wanted to move up to 3rd grade with them, but when she asked the principal about it, he said no.
We are proud of you Berkeley Sinclaire! You have done so well and are such a good student. You always try your hardest. When you had two presentations in front of the class this year you raised your hand to go first so you could get it out of the way and not have to worry about it. You did a fantastic job on both presentations. You have come so far. Mrs. Opland was right, you "are sunshine" and we love you so much. Keep up the good work!
